well, have a new pc with vista and turned my x-box on for a bit of online gaming and it asked me if i wanted to link so I pushed yes and followed the instructions ... and hey-ho every mtv channel on my tv, and football etc etc !

Shouldn't make a difference, infact ethernet is preferable unless as wifi can struggle with some content.

I suspect that you have to sign up to a not too legal service to recieve it.

Don't use many streaming services myself, but Video Shoutcast is worth a look, i have that on my xbox (XBMC), no need to sign up for anything to get it.
