whats the score with 5 series alloys?

Looking through the catalogue, it appears the cars (Sport) come with 18s... but other alloys are available as accessories...

is this right? do the accessory wheels cost a lot? are they on run flats?

Also, I have seen some 5 series (not M5) on the roads that have what look like wider wheels on the back, though they did look like BMW wheels, not after market as such.

Can Anyone clarify?

The price will depend on what you go for, and in some cases if you want 17" wheels on when your's comes with 18" wheels as standard then there is often no charge to change (as they'll make the money from someone wanting the 18"s anyway).

The wider wheels on the rear has always been an option - it's called a staggered set-up.

Yes, you can upgrade to 19 inch '172' alloys for £900 if you do it when the car is being ordered.

Schnitzer was a popular wheel upgrade - but BMW and Schnitzer have recently parted ways - a set of 20 inch schnitzers and tyres costs £4700.

Neither the 19inch rims or the 20inch rims can take runflats
