Areo Pack - Handling at Speed
Discussion
Sorry to ask, but why?
The best improvements to the handling of a Tuscan are:-
1. Upgrade the suspension to adjustable shocks.
2. Get the car corner weighted and set up by someone who knows what they are doing.
3. Fit good tyres with a 'not too hard' compound.
4. Do a speed driving course such as the Rob Gravett Ultimate Car Control Day.
The 'wing' on the back of the S does little more than alter the look of the car (and not for the better IMHO). It certainly does nothing in corners where there is no speed available to effect downforce. I used to have a MkIII Granada in my youth and i put one of those black plastic aftermarket spoilers on the back. It still went around corners like a well flung house brick.....
Edited to add that i have re-read your post and you're talking about the front splitter. Fair enough, but i still think you are better doing points 1-4 above.....

Thanks for your comments, it was the front splitter that I was wondering about and whether anyone has added one and if it did make and difference, I've done 1, 2 and 3 of the above, my ego might struggle with number 4 though. The best improvements to the handling of a Tuscan are:-

Hey, i've done number 4 and it was the best day ever. Truly helped me to understand how to get the power down and use the car to its full potential. ANYONE can go quick in a Tuscan in a straight line, but its all about the twisty bits, getting into and safely out of a corner. Highly recommended.Edited to attach link to another thread about a previous car control day. Its all good stuff....

I want to improve the aero of my Tuscan two, I was thinking about fitting the areo pack from the Tuscan 'S' to the front of the car, has anyone else done this and did it make any noticable improvements?
I haven't, but it must help. I expect the boot spolier helps a fair bit too but I just don't like the look of them.Cheers,
FT.
I'd have thought the simplest thing would be to experiment with dropping the front ride height a little. In my experience it's front-end lift that makes TVRs scary at high speed, and less than an inch difference in height front to rear should make a real difference there. Hard to say scientifically without access to a full size rolling floor wind tunnel though!

Shapeshifter,
your profile says Mk2, but u must be talking about the splitter for a Mk1 I guess(?)
I put the front splitter on my Mk1 (with the compulsory bar) and it improved front end floating a lot.
I recommend it.
I have the rear spoiler sitting in my garage cos I can't bring myself to spoil the rear end!

I'm talking about the splitter arrangement on the Tuscan 'S' which comes standard on the Tuscan 2 'S', I have a Tuscan 3.6 without the splitter, I was pondering on fitting the 'S' splitter.your profile says Mk2, but u must be talking about the splitter for a Mk1 I guess(?)

The front splitter helps to lower the pressure under the car which improves the front end stability, the rear spoiler makes a big difference on the rear of the car when you lift off at high speed. It cuts down the rear end wander.
Hit a 100 in a Tuscan and you cant make any sudden movement with the stearing wheel coupled with a side wind and the sphinkter is twitching! Avalanche said:
