Hi Folks,

Can anyone tell me what size the stock mufflers are? I am considering the following MagnaFlow 4"x9" oval, but not sure it will fit:

Builder; Hang on for a minute, I am taking the GTR to a Christmas Party today at the shop that did my headers. These guys are serious about all things exhaust I forget which mufflers they suggested but they have lots of dyno and track time to back up there opinions. I will get you the info while I am there and pass it on. Lee

Thanks, Lee. Any and all comments are appreciated. How are you coming with your shift cables and reverse?

Anybody have a tape measure handy? Just looking for the dimensions of the stock silencers.

Hi Scott

Just wonder why you would need them as you are using an LS7?

The main body is 17". The overall length is 21". The oval is 8" by 5 1/4".

Regards Dave

Thank you, Dave. I am using the stock silencer location and mount. Didn't want to go bigger than the stock size for clearance.

This 5x8 should work, then. It's almost exactly the same size. Magnaflow has a great sound to them, generally speaking.

The Jeep was at the test station last weeek for its annual emissions test and there was an exhaust shop next door down. Speaking with the owner, he said he wanted to "make" mufflers so we could custom tune the sound! I need to make more paola!
