156 2.0 Selespeed Economy
Discussion
Looks like you're getting about 23 - 24 mpg. If you're driving enthusiastically, that's probably about right. If you cruise at a steady 70 -75, you should get well over 30. Squirt around the lanes or in town, make the engine sing, and you'll get under 20. The 2.0 engine is not renowned for economy. Don't think the Sillyspeed makes any difference. Buy a diesel!
You might find this topic useful. I have a 1.6TS and am lucky to get 35mpg.

I know petrol has gone up recently but I am only getting about
a 100 miles to 20 quids worth of petrol. Now this seems juicy
even for me as a TVR driver with nearly double the CC's.
Thoughts ?
i'm in the same boat. 20 mile commute from south east london to heathrow, doing about 250 miles to the tank.a 100 miles to 20 quids worth of petrol. Now this seems juicy
even for me as a TVR driver with nearly double the CC's.

people who have tvrs and get an alfa as a commuter mobile need their head testing. especially those who go for a selespeed!!
(i'm off to get my head tested)
I get between 35 and 42 mpg (Imperial) on my 2006 model 2.0 TS. But, it feels a leeettle bit slower than it should be. I drive most of my trips on open roads, so that may help! But I do enjoy the car fully, meaning it gets a fair spanking very often and et still returns this amazing economy!
What?!?! I think the TS is known for pretty reasonable economy.
If I drive really really hard I might get it down to around 26/27mpg. My normal routine of fairly hard every now and then (i.e. foot on floor off every roundabout from 2nd up to 70/80) gives me around 29/30mpg.
Maybe check thermostat + tyres? I lost several mpg's when my tyres were only a few psi down.
