Which new Montessa trial/trail bike??
Discussion
Having owned several trail bikes over the years, Kwaks/Betas etc, I feel like I want to get back into it..
As I live about 15 mins away from Jim Sandiford's emprorium (The importers), I thought It would be wise to go for one of these.....(servicing, spare parts etc)..
I do not intend to enter any trials, just potter about around the local quarries and fells, of which there are plenty round me, also it needs to be roadworthy, taxed etc......(although it will only be used on the road to get access to the hills, maximum five miles)
Prefer around 200cc plus, price is not an issue.....
Thanks....

These days you talk to Caroline Sandiford. Jim passed away in the early nineties. The only bike Montesa do is a 250cc Trials machine called the 4RT. You can get a "long ride" machine which basically is a Trials bike with a seat and a bigger tank. The Bike is single cylinder and fuel injected. You can alter the system using a laptop to change the engine characteristics. Montesa's factory was bought by Honda some years back and the Spanish government insisted that as part of the deal they produce Some Montesa named models ever year. In Japan the bike is the Honda RTL250. Sandifords do Honda Enduro and Moto cross machines as well.
