Hi, I live in North London and work in Watford area. I am looking for someone that can help me with my 93 430 Chim. I have had some work done on her but the problems I have are not being sorted :
1) Damp/ leak in Footwell(Driver)
2) No cabin heat in winter (Its cold in the cabin and in summer hot as hell with no air passing, Fan works)
3) Shuddering as if clutch is worn (Oil leak??)This is only in first and only when hot. Shudders really badly on pulloff.
4) Running rough when hot, RPM surging as if has its own mind
5) Temperature gauge is showing high heat on the red, but fans do kick in.
6) Fan belt replacement.

Clearly items 3, 4and 5 are my most critical.

So I dont have a workshop and really want to get her running at optimum performance.

Anyone have ideas please,

Thank you

Hi Rob,

I use Perry Mott of V8 Customs.
Dews Lane
Harvil Road
Harefield
Middlesex
UB9 6JN
Perry’s mobile number is 0795 7872615

He is an excellent TVR mechanic (used to have the V8 Centre in High Wycombe) who looks after my Chim and is very reasonable priced.

It is a bit difficult to find.
When you drive out of Harefield toward Denham it is the firs country lane on the right.
There is a sign post there for some Adventure Centre.
When you drive into the lane after 200 yards you will see a lot of cars (Landrovers) parked.
Turn right into the gate and Perry’s workshop is first on the right.

HTH,

Gloggy

Depends how far you can travel - I use Topcats racing, the other side of aylesbury might be worth giving warren there a ring and describing your symptoms he might be able to give you some idea of what may be causing the problems over the phone.

You could try Offord - a bit of a trek up the A1, but they will give you a courtesy car.

What about Barnet TVR, or even Tower View Race services near Brent Cross. Dave Wallis has been working on TVR for decades.

Fresh fluid in the diff and all was well again
