PUTTING PETROL IN A T350

HI IVE JUST PURCHASED A T350 ON SATURDAY AND HAVE HAD SOME TROUBLE PUTTING PETROL IN IT,IT RUNS ALL DOWN THE CAR AND THE PUMPS JUST KEEP KLICKING COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE.

Slowly - other trick some use is to keep the pump at the 3pm angle (imagine a clock and the pump should be where the smallhand is), I dont have that issue on the Sag, it works like normal, so each is different.

I still have to fill the Sag on 1/2 speed though, also some have issues with it spurting back or on opening the vent. Just take it easy till you find the position that works for your car.

It always takes about 5 minutes to fill mine up. Try putting the nozzle in about halfway at approximately the three o'clock position and then hold the trigger in about two thirds of the way in. Also don't over fill it or it will just spit it back out down the side of the car, try and gauge how much you need to put in from the ECD and then as soon as the trigger clicks stop filling. It's also a good idea to open the ball valve slowly so you don't get petrol in your eyes.

One of those lovely TVR quirks - takes twice as long to fill the tank than on 'normal' cars and half as long to empty it again!

Slowly is the best advise. I over filled my Sag once and the petrol was sat in the louvres like three little lakes (luckily I'm not a smoker!) Had to mop it out with loads of tissue paper.

Firstly, I hope you enjoy your T350C as much as we all do here. You have just just become a member of an exclusive group of very happy TVR-owners and when the warm weather and salt-free roads return you'll be able to see how good this car is!

last nite I had it at 3pm and filled it flat out to the brim, I find some nozzles fit diffrently to others though!!

Stay cool and casually fill up at your own time with varying techniques....it doesn't matter, as most people hang around to hear the TVR symphony...You will find the answer with time...we've all gone through this!!

Filling up can be a pain. My advice would be to wash & wax the car as petrol will stain the paint if not washed off straight away & therefore a 'coating' of wax will help avoid this.

As for filling up, well its just a case of learning. Its a pain but you'll get used to it. Worse still is when you go to fill up & quickly open the petrol cap to have the remains of the tank spray all over.
