I think the lotus esprit is the absolute greatest luxury sports car ever. I love the power the handling and the hand stitched leather. Forget ferrari and porsche can get in line behind nissan. The new lambo may take the cake, but the lotus will allways be a #1 Supercar

The Nicest?

1995 s4s US best 4 cyl
2002 25th anniversary US best 8 cyl

Lotus Esprit Rock!!

It's a supercar not a luxury sports car.

The Esprit is luxurious like saying the straightjackets at Bellvue are more comfy than the ones at the county hospital

But yes, as a supercar, the Esprit is just fantastic. I can't wait to drive mine again, as the good weather is finally here.

Hopefully I'll get the BOV and chip installed this weekend.

Hi,

Gotta go with Mike on this one. It's not at all a luxury sports car in the same vein as the Aston Martin, Massserati or MB 600SLK. That's ok, it's not supposed to be.

I do think that placing Ferrari and Porsche in line behind Nissan is a little shortsighted as well. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

Far be it from me to disagree with Mike and Jim (and this is probably just semantics/someantics ).

I consider the Esprit an Exotic, which is:
high performance
great handling
limited build/hand built(prime criteria)
aesthetically pleasing

I consider supercars to be:
high performance
sub 4 second 0-60 (factory spec)
above 200mph top speed (factory spec)
great handling

Sportcars are:
esoterically defined as cars that "look the part"

- or another way to look at it -

Sportscars: You shoot yourself in the foot

SuperCars: You'll shoot yourself in the foot, but you'll have so much fun doing it that you won't care.

Exotics: You'll be able to shoot yourself in the foot just as soon as you figure out what all these bullets are for.

Or perhaps better:

Sportscars: I am a w*nker.

Exotics: I used to be a w*nker, but have since paid to upgrade.

SuperCars: I've gone and hired someone to be a w*nker for me, as I can't be bothered to take a break from driving extremely fast. And because I can.

i meant forget ferrari ( too dainty, and delicate), Porsche got passed by nissan for drive and style in 1990.

Austin Martin and MB's are luxury but big pigs in the weight class

Maserati - See ferrari minus power and styling...

Lotus takes the cake!!!

Maybe its just the wood wool and leather in my s4s that makes me feel like

IMO Its the #1 Luxury Sport Exotic on earth, till the gallardo comes out.
