Are you an industrial laser printing expert? (onto metal)

We have a range of products that need to be printed with various text onto a metal surface. Currently they are solvent printed but the ink tends to rub off over time.
A colleague suggested laser printing thin an in-fill to give black text - sounds like a great idea but we cant find anyone that can supply a machine to do it, or even find if is actually possible.
So - its a long shot, I know - are any PH'ers laser printing experts?
