Hi,

just buy one that has been well looked after - good ones are generally pretty good but they are more fragile than the griffs chims etc

I have the same in Techno Violet. Beautiful car the 4.2. These days people are giving them a hard time though - just look on youtube. I think mine had been tracked but I think it's ok. Make sure it's got plenty of bills and receipts for all the work done over the years - most important. Mine had many 1000s spend including lighter clutch - Nitron suspension etc and I suppose it's safer to buy from a good independant or TVR dealer at least you've hopefully got three months to check it out. I think there is bags of stuff on here already so might be worth a search.

These cars are built to be tracked. I would have more of a problem buying a TVR that seemed to be permanently garaged, than one that had been on a track.

hehe I'd be wary of a Cerb that hasnt seen the track - IMHO, a Cerb thats used properly will be looked after properly.

At 73k miles, many of those in competition/on trackdays - I think I have a fairly reasonable idea of how well these cars take to such driving... bounce

"I Need Some Quick Advise"

1 Buy low sell high
2 Horizontal stripes make you look fat
3 Don't scratch your nuts in public
4 clunk click every trip
5 White wine vinegar is great for removing limescale
6 Don't pay the Ferryman
7 Don't wear your wife's white under-garments under fluorescent light
8 Never work with animals and kids (unless you are Michael Jackson)
9 Wash your hands after flushing
10 Too much Wayne King will make you go blind

Hope this helps hehe

Agreed but didn't do much for some of the body work - particularly the front of my car. I'd hope many people dont leave them in the garage for years either. Probably best for him to go to a good dealer and ask these questions about a car he likes the look of and then make his own mind up. Make sure it's got lots of bills so you can see what's been done. I personaly would avoid after market mods on the car - but as we know it's horses for courses so you do what you want at the end of the day.

Definitely, roads are much emptier in Europe; suggest you go down to the South of France and then work your way up through the Alps.

I've done several x thousand mile jaunts through Europe including the Swiss Alps, in mine (a 4.5). A mate (slvrcrb) has also travelled through Europe a few times in a 4.2, including a few reccie's for the Swiss Alps trip.

Sorry Fellah! Did not realise pre-Xmas light-heartedness was taboo. I'll stick with my fellow Jaguar boys next time. They are a real bundle of chuckleshehe
