HI, an introduction and a question....
Discussion
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum (but not forums in general - I won't say which one) so thought I'd introduce myself after reading threads as a guest for a couple of months now.
I have been amazed at the down-to-earth nature and openness shown by everone on the forum.
I'm Jon, 23, an Architectural Technician (design houses) from Lincolnshire.....I have a passion for supercars, I work full time and also run my own business to enable me to sometime soon, hopefully, purchase something a little more interesting than the current horse.
The question - I have noticed many members own their own companies - is it a) allowed, and b) ever come to anything, if people quietly advertise themselves (ooh eer!) on here, as in through their profile....?
I will be here for the duration I think, and I am a positive poster and replier to many threads, although my supercar experiences are limited to aesthetic opinions, I'll try to partake in order to learn a thing or two!
Many Thanks all...
JCB!

Welcome Jon
AFAIK its ok to do what you like on your own profile, some peeps put links to their company websites etc. Also, Petrol Ted/Garlick (aka Da Bosses) have something called, IIRC, Oily Pages where you can promote your business. As for promotion within the forums thats a no no, but if someone posts asking for help etc in your industry, you can always PM them direct

Do you think I should tell him which village or should we get to know each other a little better first?

(praying everyone know's their 'Two Ronnies' and i don't get lynched by the sausage boys)
welcome to the forums mate
Welcome mate, we are a not a bad bunch that is true..........
People like myself and Jamie (above) pay for advertising, I mean we have adverts in the computers section and I also advertise our finance website using our pre-approved finance advert in here and Porsche forum, and even we get dug up about advertising now and again by the PH bosses...lol
To be fair to them, it's just trying to keep the content inline with the forum intentions and that about talking cars!!
Anyway for a shameless plug, I am sure we will all have a look at each others profiles now!!!!
PS - Jamie has one of the best hosting facilities in the UK,and is recommended by many a PH'er.
Merry Xmas
Paul

But I think I may have seen your car in/around Scunny - unless there's another?! At a wild guess I'd say Burton Stather?
