12 months in the garage, now I'm out there enjoying it! Drives better than I ever hoped it would.

Spec is nothing special at present. 2 litre pinto running standard twin barrel weber carb and standard cam. Did the engine rebuild myself so didn't try anything too clever. Not sure whether I'll upgrade the pinto in due course or go for something newer (Zetec / Toyota 4age??)

Went for adjustable shocks (spax) all round as I've heard that the standard rear shocks can be a bit soft, and I'm glad I did.

At the moment I'm just enjoying it and sorting out the glitches.A Bentley driver in Chipping Norton made my day on Sunday by paying it a compliment, and telling me how his car had depreciated £74k in three years!!!

That is one of the best tiger's I've seen, you must be really pleased with how it looks. I have never considered the tiger having owned two Sylva's but you have done a good job.

Great colour too, reminds me of my old Striker:



Don't worry about the power, get the car sorted first, you'll enjoy it more.

Looks fantastic - good job

I seriously considered the Tiger before I plumped for my westy, in actual fact we had viewed a tiger in the morning, the westy at lunch and went to view another tiger in the afternoon, the first tiger was sold by the afternoon (I really wanted that one) the westy was lovely and the last tiger was a bit of a mess.

ENJOY IT!!!!

Oh and get yourself an FIA approved roll bar!!!

You're right about the roll bar. I originally ordered a competition roll bar from Tiger but they couldn't supply it at the time. That'll be a necessary job before I go on a track with it. Any recommendations for suppliers?

Give Paul at www.plays-kool.co.uk a ring, he was going to make me a roll bar for my westy as I'm tall but he needed the car up in Bradford and thats a long trek from Surrey.

Graham - Have you seen the premium they charge for all that extra balast?

Now available with GSXR1000 lumps so I undersand? Heres hoping!

0 - 100 in ????? Oh, about six-and-a-half I would hope.

Ultimapaul you cannot be serious about buying on of those twin engined horrors? Quick in a straight line but have you ever seen one on a track day? Can't corner for toffee as the front engine is so far forward. They weigh far too much cost an insane amount for a car with no residuals. You would be far better off with a car that costs less and will be far quicker on a track day the Caterham R500. It also has the advantage of not being worth 50p after a year which the Tiger will be.

Oh yes and Caterham told me at the festival of speed at Goodwood that Autocar have tested the R500 again and the 0-100 is now down to 7.2 seconds. They have done the 0-100-0 in 11.22 seconds which is far quicker that the Tigger can do it.

At the end of the day the Tiger is £45,000 fully built for the Z100 WR and the R500 around £40,000 with loads of options fully built.

I'm getting an inferiority complex now! Actually I'm more than happy with my £6K worth of car. Spent a day on the test track at Haynes Museum at Sparkford on the weekend and having got the suspension set up right was doing lap times the same as other Tigers with far more powerful engines. Plan to get back down there soon.

Dino - Thanks for the advice mate, I know it is offered with good intentions. The slight flaw is in the maths .... and I have done some research. I can BUILD my own Z100 for £16-18k. Still an awfull lot of money I know, and, yes, even at this level, the re-sale value is still a concern. The final decision is yet to be made.

Just a small point ..... in a previous post I mentioned the weight thing. Thats why I'm steering away from the WR. I don't like the idea of fancy 'virtual diff' either.

You won't hear me belittleing the Cat mate. One of them funnky beasties was my first forray into the kit car scene. Had to sell it to finance the Ultima engine though I'm affraid.

I may catch you at one of the owners club meets, I still venture along occasionally.
