I have a clicking sound, sounds to me like a relay coming from the dash, around the rear fo the speedo cluster. It seems to be clicking a lot and at no specific time, so i cant narrow it down to a certain switch or movement etc. any ides ?

Im also getting a strange miss, she will drive along happy then drop what sounds and feels like a copuple of cylinders. if i restart the engine ,its fine. any ideas ?

The clicking will be the odo. Some do it, some don't. Out of interest, do you have the black-rimmed dials with LCD odo, or the later silver-rimmed ones with mechanical odo and trip meters?

Its normal with the early cars, every 1/10th of a mile the speedo clicks. Dramatic surgery on the speedo can remove it, but most of us have got used to it and just try to make it click faster evilhehe

Misfire could be anything, if it happens around 3000rpm when warm and then goes away, I would suspect the pipe from the purge valve to the carbon cannister has fallen off (clamp the pipe from the plenum to the front wing to check).

scratchchin Hmmm... I've got black rims, a digital (LCD) odo and no trip meter... Mine was built May/June '93, first registered June 11th of that year.

In this case, it must be a '93 as they only started Chimaera production after having finished the last batch of UK-spec Griffith 4.X models near the beginning of that year. I don't know how many 4.3s were made in '94, as all I seem to come across are '93s...

Maybe different due to kmh / LHD variant. Your washer bottle mount is unusual (normally round the corner - not interfering with the rad) which I put down to this.

Don't worry OP, they are normally half V profile black rims, recessed into the dash, and only have mechanical mileage, no trip / warning lights...

When was the fuel filter last changed? Sounds daft but this may have an impact?

Thats unusual... the 4.3's seem to be generally very similar in spec/build. Have you got the door knob in with the gear lever Eric? - that is the first change on the early spec I can think of.

Ah, glad to learn it's got at least one ideosyncracy hidden in there... after reading the Bible back to front I was afraid it was all too normal and typical for its year and spec...heheI mean I even didn't get the big valves thrown in for free frown (got them now though biggrin)
