My Tiger has never been on a rolling-road and when people ask it's BHP I just give a conservative guess, what do you think:

- Fully rebuilt 2 Litre Ford Pinto
- Kent FR32 Cam
- Vernier Cam pulley
- Weber 38DGV Carb with an ITG air filter poking out of the bonnet
- Standard Tiger exhaust
- Timing set up accurately

I know it's got enough power to keep me happy but any guesses?

Thanks

Does whoever gets closes win a prize?

I'm no expert, but with that spec on a single carb, I'd guess 120bhp

No prizes I'm afraid it's just out of curiosity. Anyone who asks in the future I'll keep telling them my stock answer of 130BHP.

I've thought about the twin carbs but then I feel that it's quick enough as it is for the time being... No doubt that will change with time and confidence!

I was going to say 120bhp based on the carb and my 1600 XFlow was about 105bhp (twin Weber 40s).

My Tiger was a 2.0L Pinto totally standard cams etc, just had twin Dellorto 45's and that was put on the Rolling Road, came back at 130bhp.

Some rolling roads can be a little more, ahem, flattering than others. My 2-litre Pinto on twin Webers (otherwise standard) puts out 120bhp. It was tested on Northampton Motorsport's rollers, which are pretty accurate (ie when a standard engine is measured, it's pretty close to the book output).

Mine was BD Engineering in Sittingbourne, a renowned good Rolling Road that specialises in carbs too. Would recommend to anyone reading.

My Tiger super 6 was as follows:

Fully rebuilt block, balanced and line bored crank, new pistons etc. Fully gas flowed and ported cylinder head, modified dizzy, the biggest inlet and exhaust valves possible, FR32 cam, vernier pulley, twin 45's etc etc etc. Setup and dyno tuned at Sanspeed engineering and chucking out just short of 160Bhp and cost a fortune to build. Last one I shall ever do, went like stink thou!!

my tigers got a 2l pinto with a piper 285 cam and 32/26DGAV carb, set up properly and it puts out 125bhp, guessing yours will be pretty simiar.
