I didn't have a clue what a VF1000 was until I looked on Autotrader, looks like a rare bike (4 year production run?) so parts could be a problem. Nice looking old thing though!

they were the replacement for the cb1100r and the forerunnuer of the rc30 ,very expensive bikes to buy and parts would be horrendous .these were primarily homologation bikes for racing the more expensive and better engineered version of the vf1000f .

Always wanted a VF1000R. (importantly it had gear driven cams as opposed to the VF750 et al & there chocolate cams).

My 1st bike after passing my test in '89 was a VF400, i also ownwed later on a VF500F11 in the classic Honda red/white/blue colours.

Very rare beasts indeed, partly due to price and also because the GPZ900 was around then which was a faster, better handling bike for much less dosh..TBH that case still stands, id much rather restore/run something far more interesting than a 1000R, they do look nice from certain angles still thou.

IF you find any parts be prepared to pay, a set of NS400 mirrors which are pretty similar or maybe even identical went for nearly £300 on ebay recently..
