'Sorry for the closure, but it has been deemed that this is an inappropriate subject to discuss on PH. MIHS that you seek a more specialist website.'
RE: Which Gun ?
What is happening on here ?
Why is it inapropriate to have a thread requesting advice on guns ?
I am no NRA headbanger but surely a discussion on which gun to buy cannot cause too much offence. He wasn't asking how to kill someone with it.

Whilst YOU may feel it is censorship I did not and closed it. If you have a problem with the way I have moderated the thread then IHS you take it up directly with Haymarket. Why is it inappropriate to have a thread requesting advice on guns ?
Please remember this IS A CAR ORIENTATED WEBSITE and whilst a lot of subjects are discussed, Guns are a grey area in respect to self-defence, if the thread was aimed at the hunting and shooting fraternity that might be looked upon differently.
I am also a keen shooter. I used to shoot pistol & then moved to Rifles when Pistols were banned.
I am no maniac, in fact I have to have NO criminal record.
Shooting is my sport and like most sports ther si far more to it tha meets the eye.
I kill bits of paper and am proud of my skill and why shouldn't I be.
So why shouldn't we discuss guns? (Unless it involved subject like "the best gun to conceal & kill someone with?"

Whilst I agree fully with the sentiment of the OP, this is a private website so can pick and choose on the content. Might not always be in the best interests of the user, sometimes you have to protect the website from legal nonsense (even if it is exactly that, nonsense).
Haymarket could ban the word 'kittens' if they wanted

Did you not read the original thread?I was about a choice of gun for self defence!
As I said if it's hunting and shooting (other that human) can't see a problem with that.

I’m not prepared to go into any lengthy debates about what is or isn’t posted on this website. So before everyone comes on and starts jumping on the old censorship bandwagon, I’m going to nip this thread in the bud and closed this one down.
All threads posted on PH will be viewed and vetted for content by routine, some may be deleted instantly, some may just be closed, sometimes it’s just a post that gets trimmed or amended. It really depends upon the content.
