XJ8 3.2 battery

Just bought a 2000 XJ8 3.2 only had it a day and I think the battery is dead.
Will not turn over just a clicking noise. I think it has not been used for a while.
Will I need a new battery or just a good run.
Any advice welcome.

Does anything/everything else work?

XJs are a bit prone to doing odd things if the battery is failing or not fully charged

First thing to do is check you have the radio code, then disconnect the battery and charge it for 24 hours.

Reconnect the battery and try again, or try the Jaguar's battery in another car.


If you're really desparate you could try a jump start but FFS FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS in the hand book. If you don't then there's a good chance a flat battery will be the least of your problems
