Hello all,

I passed my restricted licence a few months ago and have been riding around town on a 125 Vespa for a few years before that.

I'd like to get a bigger bike, that is more comfortable, stable and a bit faster for short-ish dual-carriage ways. Before I go and get a Vespa 250 can anyone suggest something that:

- Can take a pillion in comfort.
- Carry the same amount of luggage the Vespa can take (i.e under-seat and a luggage box)
- Be nimble enough to nip around town
- Can be restricted without too many problems

Thanks.

What style of bike do you want? Something like an SV is good value for money.

Do you think you want to stick with what you know and love or are you after a change as well as more power?

I don't want a really "racy" bike - to be honest pillion comfort is a high priority as my girlfriend spends a lot of time on the back. I'm happy to change to something different, and a bit more power would be good as I'd use the bike more (e.g. wizzing out of London for the weekend)

I'm with Remal - I got a 99 Fazer, after looking into various bikes and talking to people in the know Fazers came out tops as a first bike. I've been riding since August and find it great for a newbie. Going to try getting g/f on it next year now that I feel confident with this. So far we've practiced her getting on and driving to the end of drive - she finds it comfy enough !!

Good luck finding something you both enjoy !

All the best.

Barry.
