Hi

I've currently got my main car insurured on a standard insurance policy with 6 years no-claims.

I've just bought an Escort van as a cheap run-around and was wondering what the cheapest way of insuring it would be. I've had a look at the muti-car policies from people like Admiral and it doesn't seem to save me much.

I intend to have 2 vehicles for the forseable future so am i better off starting a fresh policy for the van? Would i be able to use my no-claims on both vehicles?

speak to your current insurer, they may well mirror your no claims onto the new car. Admirals multi car policy is imo crap as it never seems competitive on price.

We have 4 cars in our 2 people household and every one has its own policy. I tried to find a multi car policy last year but never really found anything, although Hegarty (sp?) said to contact them as each policy ran out and they'd see what they could do.

The above is true, but it is still spin, somewhat.

I had a second car and MoreThan mirrored my NCD, so gave me a reasonable price on the 2nd car.

However, at renewal this 2nd car was recorded ( fairly ) as only having 1 years NCD, so if I did leave MoreThan ( who would still mirror the full NCD so long as I stayed with them ) the price would be excessive.

Annoyingly, knowing they had me over a barrel, MoreThan out the premium through the roof at renewal, effectively charging me as all others for a 1 year NCD only.

No-fault insurance is a not very-well-known option for insurance. Depending on the state you live in, it might be one non-traditional way to insure your vehicle. No-fault insurance has some followers and some major detractors. No-fault insurance in most states, does not remove all liability. Severely injured victims generally still have some recourse. Here is the proof: The basics of no-fault vehicle insurance
