sitting in bed feeling really grotty.
vodka martini for self medication.
and a steaming bowl of homemade macaroni cheese.
what is your favourite comfort food when you are feeling yucky and why?

Cup of Bovril and some buttered bread to dip in it.

No real reason why....just harks back to having it as a child when I was ill.

My Mama's Italian chicken noodle soup - basically pure chicken stock with tiny pasta pieces in it. And lots of bread and butter to soak it up with.

Mash, just plain ordinary mash with some gravy.

Or custard with some kind of steamed pudding or sticky toffee pudding

If I've got a stinking cold, a hot curry (jalfrezi or vindaloo does the job), a large snifter of cognac (very large), and a dose of night nurse sends me off to sleep very nicely.

I wake up no better.

But I wake up nonetheless having enjoyed the evening before biggrin

Now, that is not comfort food. That is good at any time of the year!

Brodo with some nice, small, Capelletti in it sprinkled with Parmagiano and some fresh sage leaves....... yum
