Guys going to buy either a Dax or Westie kit for a Bussa. Which one would you go for and why? The Dax price list seems to be designed to confuse where as the Westie is a simple kit price with options available but I am gussing that either one is going to come in about the same price so I could do with finding out the pro's and con's of both.

Cheers
Jason

Hi Jason. I'd get the Rush, but as I've got one I'm biased. I think it'd be fair to say that Rushes are a bit rarer and perhaps more "bespoke" (polite way of saying they don't go together as well hehe ) but I like the character that they have. A Westfield might give you an easier life, but having never owned or really been interested in Westfields it's hard to say.

My car is a V8 but if you came over to the Rush owners club forum I'm sure that someone on there could give you some useful information on the bike engined cars. Clicky clicky.

Here's a link of Duncan Cowper's turbo Busa Rush and shows what's possible with them. Youtube clicky.

Depends what you want to do with it, either will be great with a standard engine but with a turbo engine you'll need to strengthen the Westfield chassis, the Dax will be fine straight from the box as it was designed with turbo power in mind.

Ive had 5 bec westys and I can highly recomend them.the standard westfield chassis copes well with the power , I own the original factory demonstrater (7 years old now) and its seen a lot of action in its life and is still as good as new. pretty sure whatever you buy will have you grinning. Westfield has a cracking owners site/boardroom for any tech advice you would need. If you havent been on its wssc.co.uk

I bought a Westfield Megabusa kit in December. When they say all you need to add is engine, gearbox, wheels, and tyres, they mean it.

EVERYTHING else is included in the kit. Their manual is excellent, and they are only too pleased to help on the numerous phone calls I have made to them when I have got stuck.

Hopefully I should be starting the engine in the next couple of weeks.

Dax is by far the better chassie. Its cheaper you can run them on 18,the handling is far superior.Personally I think they look better but one thing I'll say is you only get what you pay for, so choose well on the egine builder.
