Urgent help needed swapped brakes on MK2

Tonight I have just fitted Mk3 brakes, stubs etc to my Mk2 16V Golf, all fine although the ball joints on the wishbones are falling out of the stub axle, i.e. the pinch bolt is not holding, can you fit Mk3 ball joints to Mk2 wishbones?

Part number for the ball joints on MK2s and 3s is the same according to the parts catalogue :s

357 407 365

Thanks mate all sorted, the diameter of the ball joint is different, managed to graft some Mk3s into Mk2 wishbones - all done!

How odd, maybe GTI bits are different?

ETKA says part numbers are the same for the cooking spec cars. Glad you got it sorted.
