1er automatic

There don't seem to be many 130 autos around - is this because they are no good ? Anybody got one or tried one ? MPG much different to the manual ? Cheers, Mike. (Sorry for all the questions !)

May be because the 1 Series is perceived as a more sporting, hot hatch type of car. They should be good, though, as the 330i autos have a good reputation and the basics are the same.

I'd prefer a manual myself, particularly on a petrol fuelled car. But its a close call, as the 6 speed auto's are certainly very good.

I've driven one, good car, the 3.0 engine is really nice and plenty of go even with the autobox

Thanks all that's good info. I'm spending about 95% of the time plodding around in traffic so an auto is starting to have an appeal (where it never has before - definitely getting old !). My budget doesn't stretch to a 330 auto (don't want to go more than about 1 year old) and I don't want less power than I have now (130 manual) so there is some logic there I think !
