Speedo on 350i 1984 Tasmin

Does anyone know if the speedo is mechanical or electrical and is it driven from the crank or the prop please?

It's mechanical, driven by cable from the gearbox.......hope that helps

Many thanks - my husband thought it might be from the gearbox. Will get that going tomorrow then hopefully.
