Hi guys,

Rearranging my front room and moved the 360 while doing so, completely unplugged everything, set it down gently on the floor then put it back in it's new home.

Now it's mis-behaving, all is fine until trying to sign into live, it says I'm signed in and pops up at the bottom which of my friends are online, but I'm just getting the little loading symbol (the xbox siloughette with the circles round it) endlessly doing it's thing in the middle of the blades.

If I press 'X' to sign out it takes me to the offline blades fine, it's just not loading up the blades with all the ads or the options to access my messages and the live shops etc.

Really quite frustrating. Everything is connected properly (it's a wired net connection) and I have tried turning on and off and refreshing the net connection on my pc (it connects via the pc).

Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry for the long post!!

Del

Is it Live in general? I thought it was just COD4.

live is being really fussy this weekend, signed in one day to find no freinds online which was weird after an hour or so decided to sign out n sign back in n there they all were....weird! if u keep having this problem and live is fine then make sure ur hard drive is inserted properly and dust off any contact pionts between the HDD and the console. If you do find your having HDD problems then replace it promptley, it was a knackered HDD that killed my last two consoles....with in 48 hours of each other!

Be glad when everyone is back to work, damn amateurs messing with my gaming!

However, COD4 Is a fantastic game, takes me back to my Counter Strike days!!

What's weird is that other on forums, I can't find any mention. Usually major nelson mentions xbl service screw ups.

Halo 3 games are taking 5mins+ to start. Annoying.

If this was last night (Saturday night) I was having exactly the same thing 9pm-10pm ish, dots going round and round egg-timer style for ever.

Seems like its Live playing up, rather than your end.

In other words there are too many users at the moment and when they all go back to work on the 2nd things will go back to normal!

(that would be my guess anyway)

The XBox Live downtime has been annoying, and entirely predictable.

Christmas time - no. of new XBox 360 owners and Live memberships rockets upwards (free 30 day trial of XBox Live Gold).

Have Microsoft used all the extra revenue to increase server capacity? No.

I know that all servers have downtime, but the problems that are being experienced are just not acceptable for a pay-to-use service. That said, when it all works it's great, it's just that it seems to go wrong far too often.

I've been playing Halo3 this PM, and it's been back to normal. The repeated friend notifications have stopped too.

Been having problems with Forza today - can't connect to ANY games. Always full.

Been trying to fix it ALL day, what with port forward, dmz upnp - everything i could find. only just noticed that xbox was having issues. is it anything to do with what i'm experiencing?
