Those of you who know me will know my nickname comes from the fact I support Motherwell Football Club. Today I stood in silence with the rest of the crowd at the match watching our club captain, Phil O'Donnell fight for life after he collapsed on the pitch. Sadly he lost that fight in the ambulance outside the ground. He leaves behind a young wife and four primary school aged children. Events such as this really bring home what is important in life especially at this time of year.

Holy crap, didn't realise this happened today just up the road frown

I always remember getting tickets from Motorola to go watch Motherwell play back when I worked there around the time when the late, great Davie Cooper also collapsed while in hit footie boots frown

RIP

Hey this is sad news. Being out all day and just read your post. Condolences to all. There is never a right time to go, but at christmas and with young ones it's particularly rough. Sorry but don't no what else to say.

Heard this last night, was totally shocked. Very sad day.
As a Killie fan I saw him many times playing for both Motherwell and Celtic.
In his younger days he was one of the best midfielders in the country IMO.

Yes, a very sad day.

Our thoughts are with the family.

I didn't realise where your name came from Bob but as you must be passionate about football I can imagine how you must feel. I felt the same when I heard the news about Colin McRae, I never met the bloke but was gutted when he died.
