No, me fine. 30 was when it slipped. Only a few miles an hour into the barrier.

It hurts, at least mentally...:-), to see a really nice car like that. I suppose it´ll be OK without too much work. Nothing on the chassis?

It was one of them moments when I thought it was going to miss but just enough momentum on the grass to keep going. So pretty sure the chassis is OK. Wyn has pointed me to one good repairer but I need to get on the blower tomorrow.

Any idea's of repairers in the S Wales and S West welcome. Be nice to go armed to the insurance company.

Shop around Jeff, get some figures in. Even if you have to keep hold of it & tape it up to drive it for assesment at various places. Don't forget the market value for 400's is good at the mo. See if the insurance assesor will come out to your home to examine it. That's what I would do if I had to go through it again.

Good luck with it Jeff, glad your ok boyo thumbup

Ouch! sorry to see that but glad you are OK. At least you will be able to get it repaired ready for the first sunshine and salt free roads of spring.

Try Body Craft 01373 864717. They are based at Westbury, Wiltshire. I have not used them myself but I hear they are Glass Fibre experts and were recommended to me by a local Marcos specialist.

Shame about the shunt - but IMO it is repairable and would be within my capabilities if it were my car. Don't write it off....

FECK yikes Jeff so sorry butty - only just got back from our foray and shocked to see this!

Hope you & Linda are OK, which I`m pleased to hear seems to be the case but so sorry to see your P&J in such a state.

Not that it helps much but you know you have my commiserations mate

I`m sure Wynn has already pointed you at Dulford - bit far I know but very good results and I know one or two up here (Stourbridge) if thats any help.

Don't want to write it off, need some ammo and repairers for the insurance company. Be dealing with them in the morning. Getting a few names together.

Anyhoo, ta for the replies chaps.

Aye, drives OK at least the 30 yards or so to get off the central reservation (dual carriage-way), but not safe with the front hanging off like that. Bonnet has been ripped out one side so that is not safe. It went up one of them low slopped curbs so not sure how much was harmed there. Wheels appear to be as per before but not able to check under myself. Recovery has it. Arranged through the insurance.

Sorry to hear about your shunt, sould be quite easy to repair. I doubt very much you have damaged the chassis, as the one that got written off was much much worse than yours, and only the front part of the chassis was damaged. and not badly either. (I've got the chassis in the back of the truck wink

Stop worrying. everything available here, I would also entrust the work to Surface and design nearby in blackpool.

In this way you can have the panels made and the repairs done by the guys who built your car in the first place.

http://surfaceanddesign.com/

PS. there are many imitators claiming to knock panels up for TVR's but only 1 Trevor bee. All of his glass work is second to none.

Neil.

Jeff,
you may remember my wedge was rear ended quite badly about 4 years ago.
The repair was done by Webbs (tvrbodyshop) in Nailsea.Four years later you would still not know it had ever been damaged. There are no stress cracks & the paint is A1. The repair & the joins, even under the car are undetectable.

Bugger, easily repairable, but I'd have thought you'll have to haggle with the insurance co, they probably dont want the hastle and will try and right it off.. I'd start getting quotes from specialists...

remeber you can always let them right it off and buy back the salvage, and get it fixed...

Too easy to loose these cars..

Talk to Adrian at Central Sports Cars at Stourbridge- He's a great guy and Fibreon who make replacement panels are just around the corner - two miles away are Horizon Motorsport and they have a complete, just out of the mould, shell for your car....
