Are we still happy with every other Tuesday?
Are we still happy with the usual venues?

For me, on the whole, yes. But it would be good to add a bit more variety and maybe try a few other areas for the benefit of those PH'ers who travel rather a long way, regularly.

Maybe every now & then we could wander over to Burton Upon Trent and environs, for FJ and the Prof. There are loads of nice pubs in little villages just off the A38 heading west, and not really too far from Derby. We could also have the odd run more in the direction of Nottingham too, as the alternate Kelham meets have proved popular, maybe we could make this simply one of the more regular venues rather than an alternate one?

The two meals we had at Mings went down well, so how about a meal out every few months for a change in lieu of the pub?

I suggest maybe four or six regular venues with a greater geographical spread, North/East/South/West. Mixed in with the odd meal out and doing something different every now & then, like Ace T's forthcoming Scalextric night.

Failing any interest in the above, see you at The Amber on Tuesday the 8th January, and Starkholmes a fortnight later.

The Newark meets tend to have a different atmosphere and are generally a good laugh.
I think they should stay as the 'other' event!

As long as distance doesn't go over the 1hr journey time (approx) I'm up for variety. The two-weekly thing suits me fine.

Yeah Nottingham is a plan. hehe

I'd be up for an indian for our next meal if everyone else fancies it?

Anything is fine by me though, I'm easy.

I thought they were for those who didn't want to come as far west as Matlock, therefore I was suggesting we go to them from time to time. Although TBH, I also thought it tended to be the same people anyway, obviously not.

I'd be up for an Indian meal in Sherwood.
It's the best Indian food i've ever had and that includes India!
Shamefully, i have forgotten the name of the place but it's on the main A60, on the right going into Nottingham from the north.

The gatherings are a little smaller and a little different, as a rule.
I dunno, it just feels different at Kelham somehow.

I'm ok for the variety, but can't make this meet. (I go in hospital on the 7th.) So if the one after on the 22nd is nearer to Burton, it will suit me fine.

I'm up for Indian, certainly and I promise to make this one!

8th is good by me smile

22nd - in Marbella.

Kelham meets are always good, should they be kept as "the other" not sure, I think so as it's a long way for me so would be a very long way for some (John, Prof) Burton on Trent meet would be nice.

We need to do more runouts too, Sunday was excellent. We could do a bring your Slow Car (as we did), bring you Fast Car, bring a classic / interesting car, bring a Porsche lol (Matt they do 24 hour test drives!)

Denby meets could start to co-inside with race meets?? We need to achieve more people on those, or go more classic/ High performance / bring your top condition car / more focused on a runout. The only problem with Denby are the numbers have been terrible in 2007.

Just a few things to think about!

The annoying thing, CC, is the poor 'i am coming' to the 'i went' ratio, with Denby.
If only 3 people said they were going, that's one thing, but last time out around 20 said they were going and about 8 went.
Twice we had 40+ cars, but we have had as few as 5 cars, once.

on the kelham topic i think in corparating it is a good idea we could do with the numbers, we do tend to draw a few unfamiliar face now and then too from the lincon crowd

It would be good to do an Ashby Foleville meeting as well. Lots of Leicester, Northhant's PH'rs attend and some really intresting cars.
