Hi, I have a dead 2004 pump and was wondering if the newer style 2006 pump is a direct replacement? I know that the pulleys are a different diameter but is the mounting position and are the hose connections the same? From some pics I’ve seen it looks like the 06 pump has it's high pressure hose connection on the top rather than the back, can anyone confirm?
Many thanks.

No, its not directly interchangeable. The high pressure pipe is also different (at both ends) and assistance level appears to be different. It can be fitted, so long as you do the pipe as well. Oh, and getting the pulley on is fun!

Summit sell pullers/installers quite cheap...

Like $20-30 or so. Universal GM style. Just make sure it goes on straight :S

Indeed. Still a serious interference fit! Don't even bother without an installer/puller! You will just have a broken pump.
