Clutch problem on my 87 3.3 Turbo
Discussion
I set out nice and early for Goodwood yesterday and was enjoying a nice blast along the country roads after the A3 when suddenly I began experiencing problems selecting gears.
After the immediate panic of thinking it was an expensive problem with my recently rebuilt gearbox I thought a bit more rationally and realised it was probably down to the clutch not disengaging fully and sure enough with a bit of care and heal and toe type stuff I was able to select gears easily enough.
Anyway, a fun day at Goodwood followed (will post up some pics separately) and, while driving home through the Friday evening rush without a properly functioning clutch release mechanism didn't top my list of all time favourite experiences, I did eventually make it home in one piece.
Anyway, finally to the question. I'm a reasonably competent DIY tinkerer and wouldn't think twice about taking on a rebuild of a clutch master or slave cylinder on an average car, so am thinking of investigating this myself. Can anyone advise how easy this is likely to be on the 930? I haven't even got as far as looking into how accessible things are yet, as by the time I got home last night I was exhausted from the combination of the excitement of Goodwood and the stress of the drive home, so I just parked it up and opened a cold beer!
Any advice or tips much appreciated.
