Spotted: White RS2 (Boxing Day)

I couldn't quite believe my eyes, but yes - it appeared to be a white, RHD RS2 that passed me in the opposite direction on the A272.

Looked fabulous in that pearlescent white that I recall making an appearance on some quattros - anyone here know the car?

I thought that`the one and only ghost rider`RS2 was resident north of the border... maybe it ventured down south visiting relatives at Chrimbo

I have seen that car - it was at the Classic Car Show at the NEC last year (2006).

It is just fantastic - silver from some angles, white from others.

Does anyone know if it left the factory this colour, or has it had a respray?

Certainly is wasn't a standard colour option for the RS2.

I'm pretty sure it was a factory colour, with only 2 being made.

This is based on my memory of a chat with a guy from the show, though, so it would be good if someone could confirm.

Believe it was a one off special order from the factory. It was for sale a couple of years back/maybe a little longer @£25k. Are there many other RS2 owners on here?

Apparently ETKA lists Pearl Effect White Metallic (paint no. 0A9, sales no. C9) as an option.

As an aside, do any of you know if there are any RS2 roadtest videos available on-line, say from Top Gear?

The only one I have been able to find is in Swedish (and is great) but it would be good to hear contemporary thoughts on one of my favourite cars.

It's the family daily driver and since it is now 14 years old it needs regular fettling. The RS2 specific bits (and the Porsche bits) are becoming scarcer and dearer. While mine hasn't missed a beat engine-wise or transmission-wise, and has had lots of the bigger bits replaced recently (front end suspension, wishbones, full brakes, fuel lines, etc, etc.), I'm not keen to have to spend even more time and money keeping on top of it. So I'm being tempted into a newer interpretation - probably RS6 - once bonuses are paid

Nothing lined up yet. I'll find the replacement car first, in Feb, then polish up the RS2 and post it up here for sale.

Further to the original post on this thread i spoke to a chap last weekend who knew of the white RS2 (Ghostrider)and said the guy who has it now has spent £1000s getting it all up together (as it had been let go... a lot) and he also now track days it and it flies.
