Hi guys,

fitted a cheapo set of reversing sensors onto the focus today - £30 really impressed with the quality.

If anyone is considering a set i recommend veba Avrs1

Hi

its a 06 mark 2 focus, and yeah no probs, ill take a few photos over the next few days and post them.

surprised how easy they are to fit, the plastic trim on the back bumper pops off and the holes already exist behind, so its just a matter of drilling the plasic trim and wiring them. I was a bit worried about drilling but checked out prices of a replacement bumper trim which is about £20 so wouldn't be the end of the world if it all went wrong

Cheers

paul

very nice job there mate. the unit at the front of the car with the buzzer etc in. is it one of the wireless ones were it just needs a live and ground connection? (you dont need to run a cable between that and the box in the boot?

Hiya mate,

unfortunalty the buzzer in the front needs to be hardwired to the control box in the back. To be honest its easier than it looks, where most of the panels come off very easily once you figer out how.

If you squeeze the rubber gater boot around the gearstick it lifts off. Once this off the square plastic trim around the gearstick also just pulls off, you can get your fingers under the clips and push to take the pressure off the trim.

Once this is off there is a rubber moulding mat insert which sits in the tray part, i drilled a hole under this for the cable to run so as when the moulding is back in no holes would be visable.

The side panels for the console are only held on with 2 torque screws, then its just a matter of running the cable around the passenger footwell and under the sills, across the back seat and up into the boot behind the back passenger seatbelt.

if you are going to give it a go, i can take more detailed photos to help.
