Dino 246 GT or GTS
Discussion
Hi!
Classic Replicas were advertising on the bottom of page 3 of Januuary's Complete Kit Car, so I'd imagine they were still in business (at the time of placing the advert). I think they're the only Dino 246 replica manufacturers still selling cars.
ETA: I did rebuild an RW Karma (which is about the most unconvincing '246 replica) a few years back (I did make it a little more authentic).

That dino kit with the thema 8.32 engine in it sounds like an absolutely superb (and I mean stunning) project if the end result properly looks the part. Even with a 3L alfa engine it's still absolutely amazing. Putting a genuine ferrari engine in the thing must lift it a great deal due to the noise and character of the engine in the relatively light weight body.
Can anyone comment on what the quality of these kits are like and what they are like to drive and authenticity (of the look if not the mechanicals underneath) to the original??
Plus, how much would one be looking at to put one of these beasts on the road finished to a good standard so that a non expert could not tell that it was a real ferrari and a real expert/enthusiast would be impressed?
Reason I ask is because I have been looking for an interesting project for some time and wanted a pretty coupe that was not based on someone elses chassis and also something that did not use a yank V8. Such coupe replicas/kits seem thin on the ground.
