Mod Wise Hot Start Kit
Discussion
I have just been out trying to fit my Hot Start Kit (have had it for a while but just got round to it). Anyway, It all seems straight forward except the positive connection.
The fuse holder recommended in the instructions and on the Griffith pages is just too far back. I can just about reach it, but trying to connect something to it would be impossible.
The Chimaera pages mentions the battery terminal and an 'O' connector, but having whipped the battery box out I'm not sure what this is.
Do you just loosen the main connector to the battery, stick the 12v red wire in and tighten back up again (obviously remove screw first).
Therefore the question is which other 12v supplies are usable. There are quite a few of the unused flying leads that have 12V on them. Could I replace the screw on the thick 12v red wire with a spade conector and just shove it in an empty hole ?

Odd you are having trouble, I fitted one recently to my 97 chim and it took about 20 minutes (and I was taking my time). There is a positive feed above the relay/fuseboard (exactly as per supplied instructions), in my case covered by a blob of silicon or rubber. Just popped that off and there was a live connection to which I attached the positive feed. Perhaps something was changed between the 97 and 98 ?
