Hi, I am in th process of buying my first Alfa (99 3.0 V6 GTV) and wanted to ask if anyone was aware of a good Alfa Specialist in Essex? I live in Chelmsford.
Thanks
There's always AMC, who in their defence aren't *that* bad. Failing that you're not far from The Alfa Workshop (http://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/), who're very good Thanks

There's also Clovertech in Dagenham Essex. Lloyd is very knowledgable and one of only a few people I trust to work on my car, his number's 020 8984 7220.
Nice choice of car by the way, a future classic!

Thanks for that. Used to live not far from Dagenham and know roughly where that is. I'll give Lloyd a call.
I must confess I was originally looking for a semi-classic that I could use everyday and looked at TVRs, Lotus Elans etc and test drove a few. A friend of mine used to have a GTV 2.0 ts and I loved it. I thought they would be too much money to insure and run but having done a bit of research, seems I was mistaken.
Have looked at a few GTV V6s and liked the look of this one. Terrific drive and a fantastic sound.
Any tips on Alfa ownership aside from good and regular servicing and plenty of polish (aside from driving the thing obviously !!

I can strongly recommend PowerFiat in Basildon, a little known fact is that they also do Alfas (well GTV alongside the Fiat Coupe). Awesome service from a lovely bunch of knowledgable guys you can trust, and usually far cheaper than anyone else. The owner himself had a beautiful showroom condition GTV - not sure if he still has it, but my god, what a car!!Thanks
Anyway, the link - http://www.powerfiat.co.uk/
I'll second Jamie at Alfa Workshop.
Don't use him myself, but a good friend swears by him - he's done work on my friend's Sprints, did a lot of work on his 3lt Giulietta conversion, looked after his 156 TSpark, his 166 V6 and now his 156 V6.
Definitely recommended.
Last I heard he was running a starship miles 164 TSpark as a courtesy car.
