993TT - 430bhp factory upgrade???

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the 430bhp upgrade on 993TTs that was available.

i.e. how it was achieved, any reliabilty issues etc?

I believe it was only a different DME (the ecu), that allowed a slightly higher boost level, hence more power.

There was also a 450bhp upgrade, but I think that was more expensive and had some mechanical parts changed.

NB The above are just 'thoughts' not 'facts'.....

The oil cooler was definitely part of the Turbo S package,,,,I am still confused over the 430 & 450 bhp upgrades.I have seen some Turbo S quoted at 430 bhp..I have been fortunate enough to have been a passenger in Paul 944/68 450 bhp Turbo S and it felt like it had more!!!

I managed to find some more info myself. Its option X50 (I think) and was an "exclusive" option which I'm guessing is the old equivalent of tequipment or something. Extra bhp and upgraded intercooler.

Now, all I need to do is find a damn car! Much easier said than done....
