Dear All,

Im looking at my Elise covered under a couple of inches of snow and thinking I really should get a cover for it for the next few months of winter. Unfortunately, I do not own a garage.

Does anybody have suggestions for a durable, well fitting cover that is suitable for outdoor (and hence exposure to the elements) for a mark 2 elise? Im sceptical about walking into halfords and buying any old cover.

Many thanks

C

The lotus cover is VERY good. Available from dealers. Dont even bother with the lotus online shop - it is utter pants.

Specialised are just about the best - for a 3 layer fitted jobbie they are about £200

Ive had mine about 5 years now ...in fact I ought to sell it as I have a garage now, and just get an indoor duset cover instead !

Don't bother with the £99 'showerproof one' from dealers. It doesn't fit very well (designed to go over the spoiler of an Exige but they sell it for all models) and the weave is quite loose. Dust, pollen, bird crap and the like will collect in the various 'baggy bits' and dump straight through the cover onto the car.

Personally I think that the Specialised cover is the way to go, although you need to be aware that it doesn't keep the car entirely dry - some moisture does collect underneath. However, it doesn't flap about and fits perfectly so it won't come off.

I've got some pics of the speciliased one on my Exige. PM me if you want them sent. It is pretty good- as said above it does let some moisture gather underneath in very hard rain but it has never come off, even in high winds.
