Found a New 'Bolthole'
Discussion
After looking at the PH Good Grub guide and seeing there was nothing for Somerset I decided that I ought to have a root around the information superhighway and find something suitable to visit and add in over the Christmas period.
I'm a great lover of finding little 'Boltholes.' Places that you can escape to after work on a Friday night; relax until Sunday lunch and then hoon it home relaxed and ready for another week in the office. Not such an easy thing to do nowadays with a 2 year old in tow but we thought we'd give it a go anyway.
I stumbled upon http://www.lordpoulettarms.com/flash/ whilst surfing around and as it was just under 100 miles from home seemed ideal. Well I have to say that it's excellent, food's fantastic, loads of atmosphere and the accommodation is lovely (No TV's !! - Brilliant) I'll admit that although they are more than accomodating, it's not really geared up for Children though and next time our son will stay at his Grans.
Anyway. That's my first recommendation for the year. It's got off-road parking for 4 or 5 cars and the Beers just over 2 quid a pint. What more could you ask for.

Stay here a fair bit when I'm working in Bristol/Shepton. Only a stones through from the city but once you're in the bar, it feels miles away.

Have gone there a couple of times to escape the world, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times
