Radiator Duct Supports, Useful or Overkill?
Discussion
I just did a coolant replacement on my '89 non-SE. I also had a new aluminum expansion tank made as there was much red rust in the coolant and the tank. But while around the drain plug I found two supports off the front frame that were once inadequately secured to the fiberglass of the radiator duct. There appears to be enough bolts holding the duct to the rest of the front body. I don't see the need for the struts. Should I reattach the supports to the duct? I thought an aluminum strip with additional self locking bolts would stiffen the lip and give better support than one bolt of a strut attached to thin fiberglass.
