Can anyone advise me as to whether the headlamp lense covers that were fitted to the Chim for 2001 can be fitted to a 1999 model? and if so how? and if so, where can I purchase a set?

Many thanks, Paul (kavs44)smile

Anything can be made to fit, but if you mean can they just be dropped in in place of the old lamps, then no.

If you mean the perspex fairings then as CA says, no, they wont just fit like that. But think carefully - they can present new sealing issues, condensation and degrade the lighting performance with no upside other than a percieved one of 'style' (over substance!).

As I understand it they are Tamora units, did a quick check on the Tamora forum and found no real complaints with them. I think they update the car well (not like 'Tuscan' type which to me look just unfinished) and is the route I will be taking later in the year.

Looking at the pictures I would agree with you, was told that by a TVR body shop

Isn't it the headlamp units that are the same between the late Chimaeras and Tamoras, not the covers (clearly)? Perhaps it's those that perform better than the Bosch/Scania units on earlier cars?

Just to clarify things, I am only talking about the fitting of the perspex covers. Will they fit without any mods needing to be done? Has anybody attempted to do this as yet?

I suppose the replies might have become a bit confusing. The answer is NO. It wouldn't fit without some fibreglass work:

Because the old style has a bolted-on bezel versus the flush cover on the new style and because the old lamp unit itself is completely different from the new one, the mounting hole in the wing is totally different between the two cars.
