Rear Window Demister

My rear window demister stopped working and I noticed that the wire that is connected to the rear window has snapped off. Are these glued or soldiered on?

I didnt even know. I have suffered for 4 months and guessed where the car behind is! lol

How do you turn it on?

Down to the right of the steering wheel their are three silver buttons. Two of them operate the left and right side mirrors. The other one demists the side mirrors and rear window. If you press the button a red light will stay on for about 30 seconds. I always have to push the button a few times to completely demist my side mirrors (And hopefully the rear window if I fix it).

i did wonder that one targa... lol but couldn't see a button which seemed to be the one... and there are only about 6 on the whole dash!

the dealer didnt tell me about the demister... wow... i feel like i have almost a practical car... they should rename it the T350astra...

i only realised that there was a rear light in the inside of the car after about 2 months of ownership and that was by chance following the 3rd time i dropped my mobile phone down the back of the seat!!

please tell me i haven't missed the sun visors and most importantly the vanity mirrors? lol

Do you know where the ashtray is in your car? I thought I would ask as you didn't know about the interior light?

yes, have used the elec mirrors.

dont need an ashtray as haven't smoked since i was 15!

Well if you decide to take up smoking it's next to the cigarette lighter. It took me a few months to realise it was there.

Next to the Accumate charging point u mean, has any one actually used the ashtray for its intended purpose..... must have a better than 50% chance of setting fire to the carpet! lol.

I have 2 wires on my early T350c which go from the rear window into the roof lining, both of which have snapped There doesn't seem to be an easy way of repairing this without pulling back the roof lining and somehow connecting the wires back together. The copper cable seems to be quite inflexible and looks like it is only a matter of time before they snap.

I'm currently having some bodywork done on the car and they have removed the rear window, I'm hoping they will somehow re-connect the wires but I doubt it!

If you mean the tag (to which the wire will connect to) has come away from the glass, the best way is to find a good contact adhesive (one that obviously will stick metal-to-metal / glass-to-metal). The trick is to put a tiny little blob in the middle of the contact surface and then bridge the gap with (conductive) silver paint - available from model shops.

Other than that it's new window time.

[all in all it's a very tricky job even with the screen out]

Classic! Know exactly what you mean about the phone down the back of the seat, lost count how many times I've been on my knees trying to fish it out.
