Can anyone please tell me what the cause of my headlight problem is.

Side lights come on ok, but when I put full lights on they stay up for 1 minute then each headlamp flaps up and down all the time and does not stop. Is it the relay or is the stalk switch? Even if i push the button to raise the headlamps and then switch on at the stalk it still happens. Fed up with it and now my temp gauge keeps going from warm to cold even though the car is fine.

Mazda fitted a new temp gauge thingy to the the exhaust, including other things that were wrong cost me £800 in total. Now my centre pipe exhaust has hole - so have to fork out for that (stainless steel) ats are fitting it for twenty quid (buying it myself) and also soon my pads and discs are wearing out.

also got some new leads as old ones are split (are they easy to replace or should i use my mechanic)?

I had a slightly different problem, dunno if it's related. On mine when I indicated one or both of the headlights would pop up briefly and flash! The previous owner had fitted a flash-to-pass thing off ebay so I took that out and it's been fine since. I just have to raise the lamps and flash them manually now rather than just by pulling the stalk.

If I pull my stalk backwards the headlights do not come up at all or flash. Only when I acually put the switch on to headlight (then I can pull back and flash).

Relay about £33 - thought about getting a complete new switch unit behind the steering wheel?
