When I fitted mine 1 came of easy the other one was stuck fast, I ended up taking it to a Independant exhaust tyre centre and he poped it up on the ramp and using brute force with a mallet and chisel type thing he had it of in 2 minutes ( As the car was of the ground he could give it more welly with the mallet) No charge!!. You'll love the sound you get I drove everywhare with the window down so I could hear the pops and Bangs, I became a bit of an expert at making it pop and bang on demand, people walking dogs,lovelly ladies,bus queues,schools, multistorey car parks cops etc.

Might be worth self-tapping or riveting the cans on too.....they have been known to fall off, especially with the added weight if they are the stainless ones.
Just a thought, mine have a pop rivet in each one. I check the tightness of the clamps too every so often.

Good advice. Having lost two cans on the motorway (not at the same time) my new ones are now fixed with stainless steel self tappers as well as the clamps. Whilst you are under the car, check that the welds securing the spigot to the corner cans are not cracked or showing signs of distress. Enjoy.Just a thought, mine have a pop rivet in each one. I check the tightness of the clamps too every so often.

I've WD40'd the clamps and will be fitting the CCC's tomorrow. Do I use any exhaust sealant on the joins? With regards to the self tappers are these going in the bottom of the can pipe and onto the original exhaust pipe? Do I screw them right into the original pipe or just so they bite on it? Need an idiots guide really.

just for info ..I nearly 'lost' a carbon can on a bumpy B road journey home ...the stub nearly sheared off (it must have been weak already..), and by the time I got home , the can was hanging down onto the ground. Would have pretty messy as a fast moving propjectile for the cars behind....
To be on the safe side, i took it to an exhaust specialist in Walsal ( www.mijperformance.com ). They tig welded / repaired the stub, but also welded a hook onto the cans and bolted them through the bottom of the boot , as below.....just an idea ...but it worked for me .....one of the upsides , is that it seems to make an even better noise !! ,,,sort of using the boot as a big fibre glass bass bin !!

[/everyone_else]Good thinking them clamps, the weight of my cans broke the exhaust pipe right at the junction with the back box, £300.00 to have a new box and pipe fitted and this was just for the off side pipe (if you can get one ) dont forget the (s) cars have a bigger bore, 2mm bigger.Anyway TVR BARNET managed to weld it for £50.00. THANK F**K.....................
