I shook hands with him. In a church. Can't remember the year as I was quite young. Think it was about a year or two before he died. Theres a bit at the end of mass where the priest asks everyone to turn to one another and shake hands (about the only bit of the religious ceremony which is truly nice) and I turned to find Philo standing just behind me! Dressed all in black, a large lanky figure and what a presence. Wasn't a massive fan of his music but thought he was great! A true rock n roll star. Under the drugs I believe was a genuine caring man. Just got caught up in the whole rock thing.

Still, a top music legend who left this world early. Seen the statue in Dublin as well. Have to dig out one of the old vinyls, then see if I've got anything on cd.
