Bmw tourer E46 rear wiper

My rear wiper stopped working tonight, probably blown a fuse, it seemed to be working slow last time I had it on in the rain. Has anybody got any words of wisdom to help me investigate the job?

I have been looking in my haynes manual and it shows three fuses feedind the motor etc, I imagine one at least will be in the main fuse box and the other near the motor. Am I correct?

If it was working slowly last time, ther could be a problem with the spindle seizing in the sleeve that passes through the glass. Ultimately if it does seize it would cause the fuse to blow. Good place to start perhaps. Easy to check on a 5 Series tourer but not sure if the rear glass opens on a 3.
