My old Chimaera is for sale (at a dealer). Not for the first time since I sold it, and it's clearly going well as it's done a few miles since I sold it.

It is a car I loved, and still have a certain emotional attachment to.

So, my dilemma:

- I can afford to buy it (or something more expensive, but that's not the point)
- I'm not looking to change either of my cars at the moment, buying the Chim back would mean I'd get rid of the S3, as I can't bring myself to sell the Tuscan
- I *know* the Tuscan is better than my Chim ever was, in almost every respect
- I know that buying a second TVR that is madness that will cost me at the pumps
- I *could* buy a Cerbera instead

But I still want it back. Not any Chim. That one.

Do I go for it? Will someone please put me off?!

Seems your wanting a TVR then, suggest you spend some money and go get one hehe

Sorry I can't help to persuade you out of getting one, though have you looked at the newer ones?

Buy it - your instinct says so.

If you regret it - sell it, again.

Easy. wink

Why did you sell it to start with?
Are any of those reasons likely to weigh differently with you now?

No question - buy it back now (negotiate hard, don't reveal the emotional interest to the seller!!), throw some money at it to get it fully sorted (you'll know what needs doing and where to get it done) before the spring/summer arrives. Enjoy it through the summer and then decide whether to keep it in the autumn.

Old flames are never the same second time round - you'll keep thinking of all those times she was under the control of other owners - were they better than you? - You'll end up resenting her sensual performance and the noises she makes when you push her to the limits will taunt rather than please you - you'll end up parting again but this time it will be acrimonious.

Much like a girlfriend really.
