I just got one delivered last week, hiring one isn't really any good as you are supposed to recalibrate every couple of weeks or so. Good bit of kit though!

I got one to replace my Spyder2 as it couldn't do a twin monitor setup apart from that had no problems with it.

hello douglas,
apart from the twin monitor thingy, is there a vast difference between the capabilities of the 2 and the 3 ?

No great differences, I wouldn't have bothered getting the new one for any reason other than couldn't get both monitors set up.

The new one carries out the calibration quite a bit faster but thats no big deal, I used to just set it up and go for a cup of tea!!

Hasn't the 3 version got setup for Ambient light though. I've just bought one for setting up our demonstrators monitors and they all sit in various stages of darkened rooms

Coloreyes sorts the 2 monitor problem. It's much better than the bundled software. There's a 10 day demo too.

It does, I'd forgotten about that, not sure how as it's sitting in front of me with a blue led on! It does check for ambient light and if you leave it connected will adjust as the lighting in the room changes.

Is there anything about the spyder that makes it better than the Pantone Huey Pro? I read that they had the same sensor?
