The two Bristol rumbles will be meeting up for a spot of refreshment in the village of Priddy before heading down into Wells.
Be aware, both pubs in Priddy will be absolutely chokka with TVRs

Last year we completely filled one of the pubs with only 34 Tivs, there are already around 80 expected in Priddy!

There are other decent pubs in the area and if you are with a group, it may be worth thinking of an alternate watering hole.

Hence this thread is for reccomendations for pubs between the top of Cheddar Gorge and the drop down into wells.

Castle of Comfort
Popular pub, can get busy.
Go up the Gorge road until and take the B3134 to Burrington Combe (try this Combe, it's another great road!). The pub is about half a mile from the junction.

Ploughboy
Best steaks in the area and a good sized car park.
It's at Green Ore and easy to find. Keep going up the Gorge road for five miles or so (great road, lurvly corners) and you will find a set of traffic lights next to the pub.

The Slabhouse
On the Bath Road (B3139) at the top of the hill (3 miles outside Wells).
I've not been there, but Pebbledash recommends.

The Hunters Lodge
Only try this if you are brave....
It's mainly locals and cavers and can be a bit like a Western Saloon in that all conversation stops when a stranger walks in.
Beer is good though....
