Newbie after info on interior layout
Discussion
Hi all.
Just wondered if you could help me with some info on the dash layout of a 94 chimaera 4.0l. I,ve just bought the fire damaged one that was advertised in the classified section, the damage is quite small only needing dash loom, fusebox and heater box. I've got a new loom coming from "Racing Green" and have got a heater box.
What I don't have is an idea of the layout of the passenger foot well ( Batt position, fuse box position etc) I just wondered if any of you may have a photo of the layout to give me some idea where to mount stuff when it starts to go back together.
Another question? Where is the best place to get a wireing diagram from and possibly a workshop manual?
I've been in the motor trade for 20 years 10 of them as an electrician and the last decade as a vehicle air conditioning engineer. I would class myself as "confident" in most areas of mechanics. But this is my first TVR ownership! so I'm looking for information on chim's.
Cheers Ade
Ps I'm not the worlds best speller!!!! Sorry.

get yourself a copy of the bible for some good pointers as to where things go and what they should be like and the rest is plain sailing if you have as much auto experience as you say you have...at the end of the day there is not much too them and they certainly are not very complicated...i can get you pictures of fuse box location tomorrow ut it is located at the end of the foot well on the inside of the wheel arch the battery sits there as well but on the floor.Just wondered if you could help me with some info on the dash layout of a 94 chimaera 4.0l. 94 is the cut-over when they swapped the battery & fusebox positions... Early versions have the fusebox on floor & battery up in the air, later versions have the battery box on the floor and fusbox up in the heavens
Its pretty obvious if you have the massive shelf in the wheelarch that the battery sits in if it is an early car.
There is a wiring diagram of the early dash off my car (the extra bits I added are pretty obvious just ignore them - the rest of it is bog std) if you need it.

Cheers chaps.
I'll be onto the TVRCC on monday to get a copy of the bible and then I will have to wait untill the car is dropped off on friday before I can really start to have some fun.
It looks like the only peice of trim that will need replacing is the leather around the base of the screen ( bit with the air vents in it). Dunno yet if I will have to take the screen out or if I can get away with leaving it in place. The trim was damaged when the dash was ripped out by the owner trying to put the fire out. (Been there a few times, you can't beat seeing flames to give you super human powers of trim removal!)
Any wiring info would be greatly recieved.
